The Belle Weather is an orchestral indie rock band from Sheboygan, WI. Formed in 2013 by Singer/Songwriter Eric Cox, the band has spent the past 13 years building a reputation as one of the most dynamic, passionate, and hardest-working original bands in the Wisconsin music scene. The band features the distinctive instrumentation of Thea Vorass on Cello and Marisa Verbockel on Violin. These award-winning artists breathe powerful, dramatic themes into each song and lend the band its orchestral elegance. The band’s rhythm section features several of Wisconsin’s finest and most respected musicians: Cory Ripley on Upright Bass, Steve Vorass on Drums & Percussion, and Micah Olsan on Electric Guitar.
Collectively, The Belle Weather is equal parts indie rock, modern folk, and string quartet – a fusion of inspired anthems, cinematic string flourishes, and the art of simple storytelling. The band’s diverse makeup draws from a great many influences to create a sound that is striking and uniquely original. The music is a rare combination of gritty, sweat-drenched rock n’ roll energy and honest, heart-felt orchestral grace. The Belle Weather exists to inspire, and invites audiences to lean in and to feel their way through every moment of every song.
Available for solo, duo, trio, quartet and full band performances. The Belle Weather is a heavy, rhythmic storm of an acoustic guitar, the deep pulse of an upright bass, and the soaring elegance of cello, violin, and voice, adding ambient guitar and drums for a fusion of orchestral rock performances. They are the eye of the storm and the damage done – equal parts modern folk and indie rock – a fusion of inspired anthems and the art of simple storytelling.
